  2. What does the computer screen look like when a camera with two inserted SD cards is connected to the computer?

    The following describes what the computer screen looks like when a camera with two inserted SD cards is connected to the computer.

    When connecting the camera to a computer using the USB cable, with SD cards inserted in both of the camera's card slot 1 and 2

    When the E-M1 Mark II is connected to the computer, the camera will be recognized as the external drive (removable disk). Two separate drives are displayed on the computer, each one for the camera's card slot 1 and slot 2.

    Windows:

    When connecting the camera to a computer using the USB cable, two drive letters for card slot 1 and slot 2 are displayed in ascending alphabetical order. In the following illustration, for example, drive "E:" is slot 1 and "F:" is slot 2.

    Macintosh:

    When connecting the camera to a computer using the USB cable, card slot 1 and slot 2 are displayed as "NO NAME".

    When transferring images to the computer using OM Workspace software

    When a camera with two inserted media cards is connected to the computer using the USB cable, each card is displayed as "E-M1 Mark II" in the left side of the OM Workspace window. You can switch the display of card slot 1 and slot 2 by selecting either of the listed "E-M1 Mark II". For displaying the images in card slot 1, select the upper "E-M1 Mark II".

  3. What is the difference between optical and digital zoom?

    Optical zoom works much the same way as zoom on a film camera, by changing the focal length without losing image quality. Digital zoom uses in-camera image processing to enlarge an image.

  4. Should battery be removed from camera when not in use?

    If you shoot at least once a week, leave the battery inside, if its more than a month. Make sure it stays outside. Yes, it is completely fine to leave your camera's batteries in for an extended period of time. As long as the camera is completely off, then you shouldn't have a problem

  5. My camera doesn't focus or take a photo when touching the screen?

    Please check that the "Touch Focus" or "Touch Shutter" is set to on by touching the icon on the left of your screen.

  6. Why are my images appearing blurry?

    The "blurry" photos you are experiencing could be because of a range of factors. 

    Please check if the camera is focusing when you are taking the photo. Most digital cameras have a two stage shutter button. This means that when you slightly depress the shutter button the cameras will auto focus and "charge" the CCD ready to take the photo. Once you get the auto focus confirmation light illuminating in the electronic view finder (this is the green circle in the top left of the screen) your camera will take the photo immediately upon the full depression of the shutter release button.

  7. Updating your firmware

    It's important to keep your OM SYSTEM / Olympus product up to date to access new and improved features. Please carefully follow the directions when updating your lens or camera firmware and keep in mind the following: Firmware updates can take several minutes to complete. Do not disconnect the USB cable during the update process. Once you see "OK" on the rear monitor, it is safe to disconnect the cable.

    Be sure to have a fully charged battery in the camera and installed OM Workspace on your computer. Download OM Workspace

  8. My camera is not charging. What do I do?

    Please check that camera, battery and charger contacts are clean, if there is dirt on any of the contacts, the charging process might not work effectively. Please also check if the battery charger or battery is intact by plugging all cables in correctly and ensuring that the charging lamp illuminates. If the problem persists, please contact our Support Team

  9. How do I reset the camera to its default settings?

    To reset the camera go to Menu > Reset and all the initial settings will be restored. Go to Menu > Shooting Menu 1 and select Reset.
